Michigan NATAS

There is so much to be grateful for...

I have had the distinct pleasure of providing some leadership, a little creativity, a few cool ideas and lots of careful consideration on the issues that affect all of you with regard to our NATAS Michigan Chapter over these past four years. As I begin the transition out as your Chapter President and do what I can to help make the change as smooth as possible, there are a few things I want to say.

This is never been easy, but it's always been fun. This has never been about any one person's agenda, but always about what was best for the membership. This has never been anything but a joy for me to serve you. The idea I came in with, that we could recreate a true statewide Chapter and not one that was just here in Detroit, has been achieved. Well, to a certain extent. It didn't quite get to where I had hoped, but we do have many new members outstate we didn't have four years ago! Grand Rapids, Lansing, Bay City, Marquette, Alpena, and more...
That's a real accomplishment and I'm proud of what we were able to do.

We've grown the membership the last three years straight!

Our EMMY Entries and Awards have grown steadily over the past three years, too!

We've held four fabulous Silver Circle events honoring more than 25 new Inductee's!

Our Chapter's financial structure is sound and later this year we will again offer College Scholarships to worthy young people in our State. This is a huge win-win for our Chapter. And I hope it helps us keep some very talented young people in Michigan a little longer! Don't you?

If any of you think for a moment I did all of this without some help, you're as nutty as I am! All of this was accomplished because of our team. The Board of Governor's who've served for the past four years with me, from Jim Woods and Alan Pinter, to Lynne Boyle and Bob Giles. From those who fought change to those who supported some new ideas...we all solved the issues together. And on your behalf! It's never about one person in this organization, it's a team! And by the way, it's a team of volunteers, who pull all of this together for our membership. It's a little more time than some may wish to admit...but all in all, it's still a blast.

It's good people making great TV all across Michigan. I'm confident, that we'll keep this momentum going for many years to come... And I thank you all for your help, your support, and your participation in NATAS Michigan.

I'll be around...see you soon!

Sincerest Regards,

Gary May
President
